Bought this bike new from Cumberland Transit. It was my second mtn bike. My first was a Diamondback Ridge Runner that I bought mail order, for about $400. This bike blew me away when I tested it out in Centennial Park. I had test ridden every bike in Nashville. Skip Stowe was the manager and offered me the bike for about $970. He said that was almost store cost, and he wanted to make room for the 1988's, and to get it out when folks would see it being ridden. He knew that I rode regularly at Percy Warner Park, and wanted the FAT to be seen. I only had $700 and he let me put the rest on layaway, and take the bike and ride. How is that for a great dealer?
We got into cutting down the bars, as it was considered cool. Mine finally got to 22". Not on there now.

Nice. Do you ride it much anymore?

I do not ride it too much. Around my house, and up the street occasionally. I rode it for a while at Monty Bell, but I had forgotten how no suspension will shake you up. Still love the way it climbs.
I have the original brochures for FAT from 1987, and will scan those and post them up sometime soon. The standard equipment and available options are fun to read. I copied to photobucket, but could not figure out how to post pics. But link here:

That voice inside my head screamed "turn around" - so I did. I couldn't contain myself and through the driver's side window I called, "...That's awesome!" because, well, what else can you say?
I see you are new and have signed in from Pakistan. Your IP address is also listed on 8 Spammer Blacklist sites.. so Goodbuy
