I picked up a 1990 Proflex Offroad frame with a few components today. This frame was built by Ben Serotta in New York and was the first mass production full suspension mountain bike. The frame is in rough shape and will need a little TLC before it's trail worthy. The main needs are to replace the rear elastomer and get a new elastomer for the Girvin fork or replace it with a spring. These parts are really hard to find and if by some chance someone on the boards has these parts, I'd love to discuss a trade. I threw on some cheap wheels for the time being. I'll be on the prowl for some thumb shifters at some point. This make will begin its transformation slowly over the next few months. I'll post a finished project when it's all said and done.

Cool one! I recently picked up a 752 (the "2" means 1992 model year), primarily for the cranks...

You are better off getting a spring. I used to bust the spacer that goes between the elastomers. I am sure anyone that has any would be rocks anyway.

I had found a Ti spring on ebay several years ago.

I just sold my last Pro-flex frame a little over a year ago. We had a 856 and a 957 or should I say my wife did. She used to race for the regional team back then.

Also, this site should be able to address your elastomer needs. I ordered one for my 752 and haven't installed it yet, but it looks to be the correct size...
