I'm trying to get some miles in this week so what a better way than to get 40 some odd miles at one time at LBL. This will be the first time I have ridden this far on a mt bike but adam made this sound fun. So me, him and jeff are going tuesday. This will be a pretty slow ride and should give both guys just enough time to be ready to race this weekend. If anyone is up for it just get with me,Adam(meanjoe) or Jeff(Bikeme)

And for those of you who are interested I'll have the lights on and will be riding the pumptrack wed. night.

P.S. if anybody is riding at mb this week than post up. I'm off from work till next monday.:)

This is a fun ride. I'm pumped(no pun intended...ok maybe it was intensional) to ride the pump track but I'll most likely have to pass on it. I'll make the LBL ride for sure though. I need to drop my bike at WnW anyway.

How about a time big guy? The earlier the better for me but i'm free all day.

I plan to go Jim's later today. We will make plans then. When the final plans are made someone will post the details. check back this afternoon or evening sometime. Be careful with that back. I hurt mine a few years ago at work and suffered for years. Spend a lot of money, missed a lot of work, tried every route that I read about , went to see many doctors even bought a full supense bike, sold my SS:cry2: My back did't start felling right again until late last year. Don't know why? That is the only reason I am able to ride/ race my SS this year. I have even been riding a hardtail again this week and racing with a rigid fork. Felling better every day. Hope you join us for the ride tomorrow. We will ride pretty easy. You are YOUNG and STRONG so a little 42 mile ride should not be a problem.:nzd:

I think Im in for this one. Got two laps at chickasaw today and the back felt pretty good (after the old lady did some nice chiropractic adjustments on me), so I think I can handle this ride. Ill see you guys at 8am at the north welcome station.

I cannot do this ride, but am planning a ride at LBL during the mid-week later this month. The distance you are talking about is what I want to do. Can you give me some details where to park and trails. I have never ridden there, but understand the trails are great.

Thanks

There are two trails. The canal loop and the north/south trail. The loop is a 11.3 mile loop that begins and ends at the north welcome station. The North/South is an out and back type. It is about 31 miles long and extends from the North welcome station south to the golden pond area. Park at the north welcome station for either trail but you'll need two cars to ride the n/s trail unless you ride out and back. Park one car at the north welcome station park the other just north of hwy 68 (within 1/8 mile north of the overpass) at the little pull over area(not a big area at all). If you need maps check out wood n wave bicycle shop at grand rivers. They also have the latest trail conditions and are all around good folks.

Great ride today guys!!! I'm spent.

Jim-Thanks for letting me ride the heckler. What a sweet and fun ride. Not too crazy about keeping up with you guys on the climbs though. Oh well it was good training for this weekend. Loved the way it comes down the hills though.

It took us 5 hours 22 minutes total with stops and everything. That works out to well over 8mph and burned 5103 calories.

Jeff i know you don't care about those silly numbers but i thought they were pretty impressive so I posted them.

Mike you missed out on some scrumptious Taco Bell in Cadiz.

WHat!?!? There was a taco bell involved with this trip!? I definitely would've been there if I knew that!!

Just messin' around...I can't believe how many miles you guys are doing lately!! Awesome!! Still scary.

It wasn't just taco bell. It was one of those Taco Fried Chicken joints. or perhaps Kentucky Fried Taco. So you could get a taco and a chicken leg. Good post ride food.
