D-day closing in and I am way behind on the running and swiming elements.
Did a long (for me, 6 miles) slow run yesterday afternoon and it sucked!
Started counting the legitimate training days I have left and they are not many.
Unlike college, it is hard to cram train for a tri but that looks what I'm up against. :training1:
How's everyone else looking?

I don't know about this. Is it an off road tri?

My mileage may be a tad off but...
.5 mile swim
12 mile bike
4 mile run
All at Lock 4 so it is an off road tri.

Well my running training is going as expected, non-existent
You ran more yesterday that I have in 2007! Like last year, my strategy is worry about the run after I finish the bike leg in the race.
I am expecting my swim to be down and my bike to be better this year so we'll see how that translates in the race. I'm looking forward to the race!

Whatever, haven't you swam like 500 miles this year?

NICE
Actually, I have swam approx 250 miles thus far this year, but my half mile time is slower than this time last year  We'll see how it goes on race day :goteam:

Man, I have never heard of this! I would have loved to have done this, (and I still would), but I will be working. That sounds really cool though.
I guess there is always next year. Uh, I don't swim very fast, or much either. Maybe I should work on that before trying to race!

Well, there's swimming, and then there's swimming in muddy lake water with 100 other people. That's when you ask yourself, "what am I doing out here"

Do you road bike? You should do the aquathlon in Pulaski. I think it is late July or August. swim-bike-swim.

This sounds awesome! I love Tri's except for the running  If there is not a mtn bike race that weekend, I'm likely in! Thanks for posting!
Have you done that race before?

This will be my 1st Tri and am looking forward to it!
We've gotten a lot of thunder here in Franklin, but no rain. So that closes the pool in the neighborhood for 20 or 30 minute time blocks. I'll have to endure the swim, but hopefully can catch up on the biking and run.
