We are planning a IMBA National Mountain Bike Patrol Training session and need to get an idea of local interest. We have mountain bikers from other states that are interested as well.
If you are not aware of the program it is affilliated with the National Ski Patrol and offers instuction and support for local youth programs, mountain bike events and particularly trail amassadors. These are common practices for most of us on the trail now and with this program there are additional resources and perks.
You can visit the IMBA site for more info:

Daryl: Give me until Thursday and I'll have a firm date for the 1st Aid classes.
To all: If anyone is interested in getting certified or recertified in CPR/AED and First Aid, I will be conducting a class for the Mountain Bike Patrol in November. It usually takes approx. 4 hours and the cost will be free to all NMBP members.
If you are interested get with Daryl and let him know so that I will have an idea of class size and material.

Already trained and certifications up to date and membership through IMBA up to date. If we can get enough members, I would love to see at least a semi-organized patrol put together where we actually sign up for times or something. I just kind of "patrol" when I go out for a ride. Let me know if we get something organized put together. Nov is booked through, so hope you have a good turnout and some new interest!

We have a plan and you should have recieved the email notification of the mailing list. We will get a few folks certified soon and work toward a weekend of training with a more forgiving calendar. Some may be done on 4 hour week night sessions and also put emphasis on the new Ambassador program.
We will be involved with some youth programs, bike camp and some trail and greenway community events in the spring. We will have tables at local greenway and mountain bike trail heads to assist in everything from helmet re-fitting, bike tunes and particularly trail ettiquite and stewardship.
Shana, I need to get with you on a grant opportunity specifically for NMBP for radios and education programs. We can chat about it at the Summit.

Hi guys. I'm interested in this as well. My CPR certification has lapsed and I could definitely use some first-aid refreshers. Thanks for organizing this. :goteam:

Sign me up also. I haven't had any training since the old Army days but I am willing to learn.
Do we have some marksmanship training that comes with that?...LOL
