Odd colored spoke

Hey,

What's up with the odd colored spoke on some bikes. I've noticed it on a few, but this is the only image I have to support my question......look closely at all the spokes.

Its Mavic's way of saying look at me I'm expensive:hi:
Really, it started with tour de france single yellow spoke on ksyriums and moved to the red spoke on the ES series.
Not my cup of tea I prefer pink hubs and bright nipples.
