MEMBERSHIP
Going forward each member will be welcomed with an immediate letter or phone call. Eric Waterman will be alerted to add to membership rosters. We need to decide if the welcome letter needs to come from membership, president or VP.
Membership drive – support materials such as posters and applications will go out to shops next week. More high impact items forthcoming as well as tools/gifts for ambassadors.
Still in the works:
SORBA membership to include IMBA membership (to be announced in near future)
Basic media package to all bike shops, gyms, athletic clubs, etc.
Chapter’s benefits of main charter resources – high percentage of dues, what are the benefits - ANSWER: insurance for monthly functions, PR, advocacy and growth mentoring & resrouces. (more to come from 3/10 meeting)
Selling the SORBA culture / growing membership is also key topic at Main board meeting and will incorporate workshop notes for membership ideas/drive.
Member / Land Manager note: Gary & Hope Patterson have a new baby girl, Lilly Grace
Trails
3/16 Higher ground work day – prior to Friday rides beginning
Firm up ride schedule if leaders are plentiful enough to offer one per week at multiple trails – TBD
Doug getting update from Ranger Matt on LH expansion with follow-up by next meeting
Shana submitted RTP grant for trail school and land management training with assistance from Traci at Warner Parks.
Lock 4 work day Sunday 3/25 with cookout to be organized by Shana Culberson. NOTE: we did not realize until after the meeting that this is the same weekend as Chickasaw trace and will need to be rescheduled if we expect to get any turnout. Will require additional communication through emails and message boards. We will also need to correct the signs posted at lock 4 trail head.
Marketing
Website update – Tim expects web work to be completed by David during spring break and has enticed with quick payment. Recap/update to follow after today’s email to David.
Darryl to submit updated sponsorship package and prices to board by 3/15. Website resources will be added to sponsorship package as available.
TCC visit – planning meeting – add recap of metro meeting to follow
Order tools – place order for 4 mcloeds to have on hand for TCC visit. Requires budget review with treasurer and has been approved by board fall 2006
SORBA MAIN
Board voted to open new local Bank account for chapter funds after numerous attempts to gain accurate accounting from SORBA main. Will require detailed accounting on monthly basis and all required State & IRS documentation for year end to assist Main Chapter 501C tax records.
Fat Tire Times – Tim Spencer will submit chapter notes to Robin and avoid any further lack of representation of chapter activities in future editions.
Will request from SORBA Main to increase Email blast to convey our chapter’s events and member input/activities/advertising, etc.
