Indian Restaurant in Mt. Juliet - new

There is a new Indian restaurant in Mt. Juliet - it's called Shagor.

Charlie and I ate there this weekend and it's awesome! Just wanted to plug a local establishment. The owner has been in Mt. Juliet for over 15 years and is also the owner of Victors Pizza (now closed - same location as the Indian place). A cool twist, they still sell pizza - so there is something for everyone.

It's located on Lebanon Road and west of Mt Juliet Rd.

Here's a link to their web site.

We ordered hot. It was - but could have been a little hotter. They also have a hotter version for those inclined.

The bread was really good - covered in little garlic clove pieces. It's made from scratch.

…but on Voyage 34, he finally met himself coming down an up-staircase, and the encounter was crushing (Porcupine Tree).

I love lamb curry. A Indian restaurant in Mount Juliet??? I wish them the best of luck. Hopefully they will still be there by the time I can start going out to eat again.

I'll check it out for sure.

The only time I ate spicy food with Sean he had to go home sick after eating the 'Native Thai'.

Nah, I just used that as an excuse to leave work early so I could ride, back when I actually rode.

For the record, I can put away some Chicken Tikka Masala and Naan. I like Bombay Bistro in Cool Springs for lunch, but it is quite the journey from Harding Place.

I just went under contract on a house that is about mid-point between Shagor and Shutes Branch (more on that in a future thread ... :cyclist. I'm a huge fan of Indian food and plan on going there often.

    Update

I still really like this place. Everything is cooked fresh and very tasty. I tried something the other day and was amazed - it was a chicken pesto pizza with Indian spices - fabulous

The kids like it - Charlie and I usually split something and my daughter gets a tomato pizza (it's a traditional pizza). My wife doesn't like it Too much flavor, I guess - but she does like the garlic naan bread

I ran into a friend there the other night and he sat with us. He got the lamb curry and I had a taste - very good. The balance of spices were really good. I had never had this dish before and liked it.

I saw that place either Friday or Saturday on my way back from Shutes. I'll have to check it out one day when I've got a little more time, or when I don't have my youngest with me.
