    Cotton Mill

I spent the morning down in Fayetteville, along with Bob Alt, his wife Aggie, Tom McGill, bob Reeder and Rebecca. Tom and I rode the trail with cutters, and took out all of the face slappers, while Bob and the ladies walked and trimmed.

I found a little dirt on my tires, but over all, the trail was in excellent condition. A big red truck came while we were getting ready, and when we finished, the main tent was up.

Great morning, thanks to all who showed up to help out.

The weather forecast bodes well for the event Saturday; two good drying days Wednesday and Trursday; slight chance for a little precip Friday and maybe Race Day; and the trail, as Brian says, is pretty darn good right now; I have not seen it all, take Tom and Brian's word, but what I was around today with Aggie and Rebecca is great. Pre- riding the next couple days would be beneficial; find out if there are problems and then correct them prior to Saturday.

The Maintainer and I plan to go down in the morning and possibly do a pre-ride, although neither of us can race Saturday; maybe walk some and just check it out. If we find some problems and we can fix we will. Clay does not have a problem with this so if anyone wants to join in, fine ; may be a little work involved so not just a joyride.

The DSG course was about as good as it gets this morning; not a bit of dirt on the bike when I finished; everything clean; Maintainer removed a dead possum from the big bridge; but only after I rode thru it. The new reroutes and the reverse direction work well together. I probably walked a couple hundred feet total, all on short rocky climbs on the starts of the Folly and Slick Rock. And a short section of Lucy's Loop.
