Fun ride last night. I can't wait for my legs to come back. Good to see some old friends and make some new ones. Thinking about having this ride at Lock 4 on Tuesday as well... whaddaya think?

Awesome time riding last night fellas. Met a few new friends and a few I've ridden with before. All good fun. Everyone made it back in one piece although some of us ate more dust than others

    Gotta do that more often

I am going to be there around 6ish. I don't get off work in Nashville until 5. I should have totally brought my bike and my clothes to work with me. That way, I could have totally came straight from work. Oh well, maybe I will see you guys out there.

Ok....have to ask...what's the best yet cheapest light to get for these night rides....and from where? Sounds like I'm missing out on some fun.

PM Shane (and is board name is shane) here on the board. He picked up a light not too long ago that was less than $80 new & I can't for the life of me remember the name. I've been running NiteRiders and depending upon model, you can usually pic them up locally for a $100-$150. Amy, I've got a spare you can use if you decide to come out.

No. I don't get home 'til a little after 5 and I don't have a light. Once I get a light I can plan ahead to get home earlier so I can make it out to some.

Search around on eBay, I snagged a 150w NiteRider Mininewt light for around $70 shipped about a week ago.

Or just borrow Colin's light and don't give it back to him!

I have a couple friends that bought this same light from the same place and love it. Seems like a really nice light for the price.

I found this light online. Not sure it's too good to be true. Anybody know?

Something to keep in mind...anything less than 100 watts of output is probably not gonna cut it on the trail at night.

    One thing to remember:

There are two types of lights, some that you see with, and some to be seen with. The link you posted is of the latter variety.

I believe that Hoopty meant to recommend based on lumens, not on watts. 150 lumens is a good starting point, however I consistently outrun a 400+ lumen hid light. It all depends how fast you ride. I just upgraded to 900+ lumen light yesterday, so we will see how that goes.

    Second thing to remember:

Lighting specs are not universal. Some companies are not rating their lights in a way that is comparable to the other companies. Kind of like how manufacturers cheat on listing weights on their products.

    hi Amy,
here is the link to the light i bought.

    http://www.geomangear.com/index.php?...4e517t5g9uaqo1

it has worked great for about 4 or 5 night rides so far. plenty bright and seems to be made pretty well esp for the money ($89). my only complaint is the battery mounting strap is made of elastic material so the battery tends to knock around when the trail gets rough.

Good ride last night! Got to ride with Reed, Martin, Roxy (who by sheer brute force destroyed her rear derailler ), Billy & Jim.. Ryan, sorry I couldn't make another round but it was good to see you at the trailhead... NICE bike!.. after a fight with a tree on 4/5 (that I lost, btw), I could barely hang onto the handlebar. I can barely move my fingers this morning & my shoulder looks like it was attacked by a cheese grater, but still had a good time last night regardless of the injuries. Looking forward to next week... especially Full Moon Fandango!

I had a great time riding with you guys! Thanks for waiting up for me. I have to say, I am glad I didn't "Follow your line". Bravo for riding on! I thought it was gonna be over for you. My brut force broke my bike but yours kept you motivated til the end. I wish I could have finished up with you guys...until Tues.

    Hello all,

I enjoyed the ride last night also!!! I'm a little sore this morning since I haven't ridden in over a week but I'm going to change that. Anyway, Perfect weather...great group. I'll be at the full moon ride Tuesday.

Good Choice! Ryan and I have that light too. We use it on our helmets with the battery in a camelbak. That way, it doesn't disconnect when we come off the bike.

Note: You do not have to go through all the setting to turn it off. All you have to do is hold down the power button until it turns off. Thanks for figuring that out Reed.

I bought the magicshine light and helmet mount after seeing how bright yours(Ryan) was when you rode up from behind me a couple weeks ago. That light ROCKS!!!

    I highly recommend it!!!

That's a little late for me today, I need to be finishing up about then. Let's plan on making this happen next week. If you want to head out there for a night ride before next Thursday, shoot me a pm.
