    TBRA 2011 Calendar

Guys for those that like to race TBRA (Tennessee Bicycle Racing Association just posted the preliminary 2011 calendar including the mountain bike racing schedule for next year. I have been working for the last 3 weeks on trying to finalize this calendar. We have a good looking schedule and I am pretty sure a few more will be added to it. So take a look and start making out your schedules for next year.

Are Dickson races actually on Sat./Sun 10th and 11th? The flyer says 11th and 12th. Do you have to race tt to run xc the next day? What does the times + 3 laps mean? New to this so not sure how all this works. Jason

Good question that link is to last years flyer a few of the links won't be current for some of the races later in the year. You will see the actual flyer coming out about 2-3 months in advance of the race in most cases. You do not have to do the TT to be able to do the XC race you can do one or the other.

Last year they did a short track race so it was a timed race that was a different time for each category and was whatever that time amount was plus 3 laps. So say 30 minutes plus 3 laps would be one race.

However, at least at this point it looks like this year they are planning to put on a Time Trial instead which is usually a short part of the XC course where racers start one at a time and have their laps timed.

I know I was surprised as well. I have been racing for a long time and as long as I can remember Chickasaw has been the first race to kick off the season but we now have a change and I think it will be good. I did Booker T in August and it was one of my favorite courses of the entire year and is right outside downtown Chattanooga. It is a very smooth nice course right on a beautiful lake. I refer to it like Lock 4 with a little more climbing. There are fast sections, tight twisty sections, and a couple of technical sections it was fun. It was also different because it's a shorter lap so the Cat 3's do two laps, the Cat 2's do 3 laps, and Cat 1's do 4 laps. If you guys are available that weekend you should go try it out.
