    TN mtb reunion Sept. 21-24

    Tennessee Mountain bike reunion 2012
    The Reunion Returns

Prior to disc brakes, full-suspension and tubeless tires, mountain bikers from across Tennessee used to make an annual pilgrimage to Big South Fork for a weekend of riding and camaraderie. In 2012 the Tennessee Mountain Bike Reunion is returning.

The group campsite has been reserved at Bandy Creek Campground for the weekend of September 21-24. Come join your fellow pedallers from across the state for a weekend of riding and social interaction.

There will be no fancy schedules or waivers to be signed. This is planned to be a laid back weekend of riding and socializing with your fellow knobby brethren.

No charge for camping or attending the reunion.
No Sunday check out time the site is reserved through Monday morning.
Covered dish dinner on Saturday night.
    Room for 114 people.
Non riders in your family there are plenty of hiking opportunities from the campground.

Has the date changed, Mike? I thought the email said it was the second weekend of October. Maybe I need to go back and re-read it!

    Steve,

The September dates listed above are correct. I sent an email out earlier with incorrect dates. That was my bad.

Great news about the TN mtb reunion and mountain biking in general at Big South Fork.

The Grand Gap loop is now officially open to bikes seven days a week. This loop has been open to bikes Monday-Friday only as a shared use experiment. Bikers now have access to this great trail seven days a week.

Here is a link to the official annoncement:
    http://www.local8now.com/home/headli...157877165.html

As one of the most exciting and scenic singletrack trails in the Southeast United States I am sure there will be rides along this loop on both days of the reunion.

Michael, so all we have to do is show up, right? If it matters right now, we'll be there!! Possibly 4 people in my crew, if not a few buddies in tow, as well. Looking forward to it! We gotta drag that David Moore guy up there, too! :-)

Yes, all you have to do is show up. Remember the group campground is first come first served. If you want hooksups you will need to reserve a site in the regular campground.

If we get anywhere near the 114 person limit I will be shocked, suprised and stoked. Don't forget to bring a dish for the covered dish dinner on Saturday night.

We are less than one month away from the reunion. Here are a couple of reminders.

We are staying at group campground E1.
There are no costs for camping or the event.
Checkout time is noon on Monday (yes, Monday!!!)
There will be a covered dish dinner Saturday night at 6:00 in the shelter. Everybody bring a dish to share.
For those interested in riding in groups we will start some "group" rides about 10:00 each morning. Routes and paces to be determined by those who show up.

All times listed above are ball park and eastern time zone.

Not sure it has been been published here or not but this event is taking place again this year next weekend. We went last year and had a blast. Below are the details from their Facebook page.
    The TN Mtb Reunion

    Dates: Sept. 20-23

Where: Bandy Creek Campground at Big South Fork...

What: Lots of mountain biking and socializing with your TN mountain bike buddies.

Costs: There is no cost to attend the event.

Camping: Group site E1 has been reserved. There is no charge for camping in the group site for the first 100 people.

Schedule: Group rides Saturday and Sunday. There will be a pot luck / covered dish dinner on Saturday night so bring a dish to share.

Checkout: The group campground is reserved through Sunday night so there is no checkout time on Sunday afternoon....or stay until Monday morning for a long weekend.

Folks with campers, RV's and pop-ups needing full hook-ups will need to make their own reservations at Bandy Creek Campground.
