    Float RP23 tuning

    I bought an aftermarket Fox Float RP23 and it came with velocity tune at "Medium". I think it says VTM. the stock Tallboy comes with a velocity setting of Low, or "VTL". Is there anybody locally that can change my medium setting to Low? I want the same tune that the factory recommends. I believe that this would be a little less harsh on the small stuff. Fox wants a pretty penny to change this, and the stock setting shock was not available from Santa Cruz.

    Give Kevin booth a call at suspension experts in Asheville. They will set you up and work with you to get the results you are looking to have.

    I have had a few experiences with them and all have been superb. Push is pretty well respected, but everytime I have talked to them, they tried to get me to sell my rp23 and get one of their in house rock shox monarch. Maybe I should have listened, b/c my rp23 was never capable of standing up to my abuse.

    I don't know of any LBS that can do a rebuild. The air sleeve service is simple and can be done anywhere. The damper body disassembly, revalving, oil changes, should be left to the experts. The damper body is under HIGH PRESSURE and without the proper tools to release the pressure, reset the floating piston, recharge with nitrogen near 300 psi etc. it is not bench serviceable. Good way to loose an eye as well.
