    Women + BMX = size?

    Hey there,

Is there any woman here riding BMX? It has been a very long time I want to ride (dirt trail and park). I am checking on everything. I am in my 30's and I was quite scared about that, but it is not 6feet under I will ride.
When I use http://www.ebicycles.com/bicycle-too....1&b=Calculate I get a 20.5" frame. I tried one in a store and it was awfully too little for me and way to heavy. I am 100 pounds, and I am wondering if I will ever get that thing off the ground.

    Help please?

    Thanx!

20.5 is very common. most store bought complete will be in the 26-30lb range. sub 25lb simply takes cash.for higher end lighter parts. keep in mind that just picking up a bike on the ground is a lot different than having momentum when riding. bmx bikes are super compact, typical sizing doesn't apply. I'm 5'10" and my favorite frame was a super compact 19.6 fly tierra. feel free to shoot me questions. I rode.and worked on bmx bikes for the last 10 years.

I have tons of questions! lol
Do you think this is a good one? http://nashville.craigslist.org/bik/3214023434.html Also I have read when the bike is too light it is difficult to get balance.
Do you work in a store in Nashville? I really want to get started. I also have to buy the all set of protections (helmet and knee, elbow pads) as I am quite skinny and bonny! lol Do you have advice? I know hard shell ones seem to be better for me. Thing is I don't want to spend more than 200$ for a start but I don't want a **** bike either! I am a pain, I know.
When I see girls riding, they look really big compared to their bikes, most of them must not be very tall. And they have trouble getting off (top of a ramp?) sorry about the vocab. I think it will get better. If you see anything on Craiglist etc around Nashville that would be ok for me please let me know. And really thank you for helping me out!! I am wondering how many women riding there is around Nashville...(2?lol)

that kink curb is a killer buy. they are a pretty reputable company. the haro has a radial laced rear wheel which absolutely will not work with bmx riding.

as for pads and such, a helmet is all you need top start. shin, knee, and elbow stuffs will come in handy learning bigger stuff. but not really needed for the basics.
