Bike Pedlar Hermitage - Closing Up?

I drove by here the other night and the store looked void of bikes, but plenty of racks. Anyone know the skinny?

My buddy stopped by there the other day and bought some tubes. He asked about the lack of bikes and they said they are currently between brands due to the change in owner. Somebody else may have better info, but that is the last I heard.

When talking to an owner of the new bike shop in White Bluff, I learned that being a bike dealer is pretty tough. Not as much the selling, but the buying. It seems that bike manufacturers/distributors, particularly the "high-profile" brands, are pretty selective/dealer protective. The White Bluff owner was told, "We don't have a need for a dealer in your area."

That's why Trek is no longer present at BP Hermitage and Giant exited BP West End last fall. So what's the White Bluff dealer carry?!

Nothing, yet. Just parts, etc. He said the bike companies "won't take my money!" It would be outstanding if this young man could get a rental fleet, being so close to MB. Pretty pitiful, considering the number of manufacturers out there and the paltry few decent brands stocked in stores and shops. Is Giant anywhere, now? MOAB's a service dealer, but I don't think they stock.

Mountain Biking is 80% mental, 40% physical, and 20% skills... and that may add up to more than 100%, but I don't know.. I hit my head on a tree this weekend.

As of yesterday afternoon...The BIKE PEDLAR has OFFICIALLY closed its doors. Ok now for a shameless self promotional moment...anyone know of any shops hiring full or even part time help?
