    New Niner Gravel bike

Just saw this new bike from Niner this morning. They are getting into the gravel bike realm with a drop bar bike. Looks nice, and I like the rear disc brake location.

Saw that on their website. Looks sweet. I'm wondering if you can use it as a touring bike

The bike looks sweet, however I'm questioning the new "genre" of bikes - "Gravel Specific?" I mean - what is the real difference between a gravel bike and a cross bike. Perhaps BikeSnob has biased me with his recent posts about them.

It should work for light touring but for fully loading touring you'd ideally have a lower BB (stability), increased fork rake (to quicken handling with a loaded front end), and longer chainstays (for heel clearance on paniers).

I need a road bike, MTB race bike, trail bike, DH Bike, Cross Bike and now a Gravel Bike? Where does it end??? I could see not needing the geometry of a cross bike since you won't be mounting/dismounting. Maybe there is something there! But the question is, can I race my gravel bike in a cyclocross race?

you also need each one in a couple different wheel sizes too

And a dirt jump / pump track bike. You can't forget that!
