    Question Moving to Murfreesboro !

Moving to Murfreesboro in mid July 2014 and looking for all the good MTB routes to ride. Like all kinds of riding but prefer the more techy rock garden type of spots. Any suggestions ?

nothing really in murfreesboro to ride except for greenway. the rockiest trail around here is probably hamilton creek, unless you head towards Chattanooga.

Mountain Biking is 80% mental, 40% physical, and 20% skills... and that may add up to more than 100%, but I don't know.. I hit my head on a tree this weekend.

Lots of us ride in Murfreesboro, but we have to travel to do it. If you are willing to travel within 50 minutes, here are your options from closest to furthest:
Jones Mill- Rocky, 4.5 mile trail, no elevation- 20 minutes away
Cane Ridge- Not sure, never been there, supposed to be flowy and short- 20 minutes away
Hamilton Creek- Technical, rocky, not much elevation, 11.8 miles of trail- 30 minutes away
Lock 4- 8 miles of flowy, non technical single track- 45 minutes away
Chickasaw Trace- 9 miles of flowy single track with more elevation than Lock 4- 45 minutes away if you dont believe in speed limits
AEDC- 50 minutes away, 11 miles of single track with little to know elevation

THEN, outside 45 minutes, but about an hour or so:
Sewannee- 14 miles of technical and flowy, lots of short, sprinty climbs 1hr away
Montgomery Bell- 24 miles of flow...good elevation, great trail system. 1hr 15 mins away

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Re: Moving to Murfreesboro !

Jones Mill is probably more like 35 or 40 minutes from mboro, depending on where you are. I'm in Smyrna and it's around 30 from my house.

I live close to Walter Hill (still in Murfreesboro) and 840, and it is 17 minutes from my door to parking lot.

Don't forget Franklin State Forest on Monteagle mountain, too! 20 miles of sweetness! Defeated Creek, one of if not the best in middle TN, is northwest of Carthage. 9 mi. single track loop with killer climbing.

Shutes in Mt Juliet is technical and fun. 45 minutes +/-

Defeated Creek is the best Mid TN Trail Totally agree Homer
