The only thing that sounds fishy about all of this is, that all of his stuff was there the next morning. I thought about that a lot and felt, why in the world, didn't those guys trash his bike, tear it to shreds? Too many episodes of detective shows in my younger days. Magnum PI, Dragnet, Perry Mason, etc. Showing my longevity.

WTF? that is horrid - I have a friend that is a Game Warden he suggested anytime I am alone in the woods I should be packing even on the bike. Said if I was out with friends most likely OK but if ever alone he said always have a way to protect yourself...

Sounds like these guys were fudge packing. So there is a gay rapist hunter gang that is fighting for territory?

I wouldn't consider FATS remote even, thats a nice well traveled trail system(or so it used to be). But its true and sad, I hate to have to carry when I'm riding, and don't at most local trails, but when I get out and explore new areas I don't think its a bad idea. They'll blame it on the gypsies.

didn't happen at FATS. it happened at Stevens Creek, which is much less traveled. you can't sling a dead cat without hitting another rider at FATS these days. i used to live fairly close and rode both systems weekly.

i agree on some sort of personal protection, but it wouldn't have made much difference in this case. it does seem strange, though.

WTF! Never thought I'd have to worry about gay rapist thugs while on my bike! I like that the trail is one of those places I dont feel like I need to carry

Mountain Biking is 80% mental, 40% physical, and 20% skills... and that may add up to more than 100%, but I don't know.. I hit my head on a tree this weekend.
