Mountain Biking is 80% mental, 40% physical, and 20% skills... and that may add up to more than 100%, but I don't know.. I hit my head on a tree this weekend.

Mapmyride. However very infrequent. Sometimes I feel it hinders the enjoyment of the ride. Trying so hard to keep up speed.

I dont think any of the apps offer the social/competitive side that Strava does. I could be wrong. There are 137 people on the leader board for Cane Ridge.

I use it both ways, to keep speed up and compete PLUS to just keep a general log of my miles. I dont stress over the competitive side like one of my buddies, but like having it there when I do want to run a time trial.

I've been using Strava of late. I could mostly care less about the competition side of the app, but the social aspect (seeing who rode where when) is kind of nice. I switched to this from Endomondo, after trying a few other apps because I knew for a fact that elevation was way off on Endomondo and never really corrected itself, even looking at things on the website. I'm not saying Strava is perfect, but the data it generates does come closer to reality where I've got it measured other (reliable) ways (Lidar).

If I am familiar with a trail, I defer back to Nissan's slogan back in the 90's and just "Enjoy the Ride."

What does Endomondo do for you that Strava doesnt? Seems like a lot of work, unless its a useful payoff.

It's cheaper for the paid version and does live tracking, even in the free version. I frequently ride alone and this lets my wife know if I'm ok. I tell her if I am not home when I say I'm going to be home, check the map and make sure I'm moving.
