    Cedar Hill park trail?

Was riding at Percy Warner on Monday and noticed this map at the trail head.

Does anyone have any info on the proposed Cedar Hill trail? like beginner or intermediate, etc? when building will start? I'm excited about this trail bc it's pretty close to me as opposed to a 45 minute drive to Lock 4 or PW.

David Hardin at Bikers Choice is the contact. He met with Metro reps this summer. We'll see. I expect it'll be mostly beginner based on elevation change. There's a little on the north side, but that's about it. It'd be nice if we could build some features to offset the lack of natural. As soon as we have a couple of killing frosts, there's some trail and feature building to do at Lock 4 and some clean-up at Defeated Creek.

    Cedar Hill park trail?

Not to sound like too much of an old fart, but way back in the day, one of the first local trails we had was at Cedar Hill.

Can a trail be considered "Intermediate" if my 9 year old can ride it?

Haven't seen anything that should be considered intermediate in all of Nashville. No offense intended to any Nashville riders or builders, but that's the truth.

Maybe I should have clarified "intermediate by Nashville standards"? Either way, I'm just happy when there's dirts under my tires. Thanks for the info homer.

Best I could find. When I go to mountainous areas, there is the difficulty of steeper terrain or narrower trails with steep fall lines and more exposure. I guess you have to rate the trails according to the other trails in an area according to this. I have ridden some gravel roads that connect the trails, where the climbs were so steep and so long, you better be intermediate to advanced in fitness to enjoy them at all. Yep, difficulty ratings are always relative. I know where there are a couple of intermediate trails that you can use to short cut ridge rides - in other words, go straight from a road to a downhill via a "short connector" that cuts out X miles of ridge riding from the road to the downhill in question. Of course, riding down that trail, it's "intermediate" as can be. Going up it to use as a shortcut? Yeah, that's called a hike-a-bike.
