    Vintage 98 Airborne Lucky Strike

    I built this bike from a frame in 98 and have enjoyed it greatly. Its amazing how technology has changed over the years yet its still fun to ride now and again. All of the part are original to the build except the forks and saddle.Build: Raceface Turbine LP cranks, XTR front derailleur, Sram 9.0SL rear derailleur (8 speed), XTR Ti 8 speed cassette, Sram 9.0SL Gripshift, XTR V-brakes (some of the first sets), Avid Ultimate levers, Thompson elite seat post, Raceface stem, Wheels are XTR rear hub on Mavic 517 rim custom built with 14/15 spokes, front wheel Ringle Son of Bubba hub on Ringle Sub 4 rim custom built radial laced with 14/17 spokes. Easton Monkey Light Carbon bars.

    Sweet. Those old Airborne bikes were nice. My brother had one, and after Airborne went under, he cracked it. He paid through the nose to have it fixed by another Ti frame builder, and it now has a special place in his basement and is only occasionally taken out for casual rides.
