    Defeated Creek Love Day

Just throwing this out there to plant a seed. After we have a couple of hard frosts, the dense weeds should die off and make the best trail in Middle TN rideable again. Undoubtably, there will be trees, etc. to clear up/out. I'll post a weekend day to meet and do some hiking, blowing, and cutting to prep for winter and spring riding. Post up if interested. Maybe we can get some folks enthused about this secret gem.

    Defeated Creek Love Day

Trail was nice Tuesday and the frost has done a fine job. Big tree down at the top of the ridge, but overall in rideable conditions. A youth deer hunt is coming up in December. Happy Thanksgiving

Thanks for the update! When you say "top of the ridge", do you mean the very top? Was that the only obstruction that you found?

What's the date(s) of the hunt?

The tree is down just before the ridge levels off on top. The hunt is the first weekend in December.

Had a great ride yesterday - 70 degrees! Someone cleared the trees very recently (fresh sawdust). The only thing the trail needs is a bunch of backpack blowers to clear the build up of sticks, leaves, and loose rocks. The middle section can also use a good weedeating. This area was not trimmed during the last work day out there. Such an awesome place. Just needs some love.

    WORK MORNING!

Well, if weather permits, I'd like to get out there at 9am, next Saturday, Dec. 12. I'll bring a chain saw and blower. Could use a couple more blowers and 2-3 weed eaters. If we have all of this, we should be able to knock most of it out in 2-3 hours and then get an afternoon ride in to enjoy our work.

    Who's in?

I gotta check my calendar and get back with you. Can you post a google map link to the parking lot? This sounds like the sort of trail I'd like to see, and I'm all about giving a trail some love. I can bring another saw, a blower and a power-scythe or pole saw if need be. If I can make it.

It is reported that all has been blown and cleared, so we made get to ride at 9:00. I suppose we could ride, then follow up at areas that may need attention. I'll try to get there at 8:00 and hike up to check on summertime worst areas.

Below is a location link. You won't be disappointed. Well, maybe a little at the gut-busting climb at mile 7...

Confirmed, cleared and blown from top to bottom. The ride is on!

Might consider bringing a tool or two, just in case.

Five of us showed up this morning. The trail was blown and superb! In the two weeks since the clearing and blowing, four trees had fallen, so after the ride, we got them cleared, so all is good.

    Getcha some!

Couldn't make it this morning. Ended up with a honey-do list. Got a ride in with the family this afternoon though!
