DSG is a fun 12 hour race, it is a close one and a ton of the Nashville crew heads down. Last year it was almost like a group ride at some times.. we had an awesome time.

The link gives you a pretty good idea but I am sure Grant can chime in better than anyone here..

I am wanting to get a 2 man team together, which means I will need someone else. My brother may be down, but I haven't been able to talk to him about it. If he cannot would anyone like to.

Question about registration. Is the fee listed per person, or per team when talking about the team categories?

This years course is 10 miles long - likely the same as the XC Race last year.

I would not mind hooking up with a 4 man team. EBrown, Robert, Diesel??????? What about it -

    Steve
Big Caveman - 2012 Specialized Epic Expert 29er and 2006 Santacruz Superlight - custom burple color
Little Caveman - 2010 Voodoo Hoodoo 26'er - Steel is Still Real / custom build

…but on Voyage 34, he finally met himself coming down an up-staircase, and the encounter was crushing (Porcupine Tree).

How soon do you think they will cap this event?

I am trying to decide between this and the 3 state 3 mountain century.

This sounds pretty interesting. Any 3 man teams looking for a 4th rider?

We should be back open for the 3rd. Saturday of each month soon. In the mean time, please just post up or PM me if you are interested in riding. The trail should be indecent shape considering that the weeds have not had much chance to grow this summer.

I was down there on Saturday, but did not get a chance to check out the trail.

We'll also post news on the DSG site. Check out the course quotes page for a preview...click the banner above to go to dirtsweatand gears.com.

    Thanks,

    Grant

Trying to keep this fresh. I am looking for 3 others to team up with for this event. I'm in pretty good road shape right now and will be getting some dirt time in starting this weekend. I plan to ride through the winter to stay in shape unlike previous years. If anyone is interested, pm me.

I can vouch for John being a good rider, if I did not already have a stealth team I would grab him...

Good luck man love to see you out there...

question... do you have to have a valid USC license to register?
I didn't get one this year but I may next year. I don't want to buy one this late in the season either.

Is a USC license necessary for DSG? I mean, more than a daily license? I was thinking that last year you could just purchase the $5 daily license? (I may be off-topic, not sure - just wanted to see where you were going with this, in case a whole team needs a yearly license!?)

I guess i was just asking if you needed a yearly license to register.

Which I guess the answer is no... just a team and some $$.

Oh!! oops...I misread it. Thought you were just asking if John had a license in order to register!! My bad!

I'm fairly certain though that you won't need a yearly license - just a daily should be fine!

Sorry to add to the confusion!

Greg you do not need one to register, where it asks for your number you just put in "one day" and you will just need to pay the $5 on packet pick up..

John, per my PM, Phil Zimmer, Eric Manaskis (Jacobran) and I are looking for a 4th person for our "yet-to-be-named" team. We'd love to have ya if you're interested. Reply or send me back a PM and we start the wheels moving with registration.

    Hey John,

I just tried the site and it is up and running, the registration link worked as well. We are doing some ongoing work to the DSG site...adding material and pages, so that it may go offline for a minute or two periodically, but this should be very rare.

Please let me know if you have any issues.

    Thanks,

    Grant

DSG was featured this weekend on Tennessee's Wild Side, there was quite a few Team NMBer's on the video.

Awesome to see so many NMBers and members from the board signing up for the race. I officially threw my hat in the ring for solo amateur male. The best part about this race is that it is a weekend event!

It's official - the "Stanky Cowboys" are signed up. Myself, Darryl "DirtDog" Glasscock, Steve "Niicce" Ferrusi, Kelly "FullSquishy24" Benward and Scott Smith of the HamCreek brewery will be there. All I have to say is Reed better not win another bike.

Does anyone know how many spots there are for DSG? I just don't want us to loose out and risk it filling up. We are still in need of another rider (able to do 3 laps) for a 4 man team if anyone is interested

    Hey Tim,
Reed's got a pretty strong team for next year (except for me).

But beleive me if you pass I have a stick for your spokes.
    It's on.

Mike - you have until May to train. If you keep riding as much as you do, you can only get faster. Your buddy Lefty Scott just about impaled my spokes at L4 during the July race - he was trying to get off the trail and out of the way when he stepped on a stick that popped up into me. It was accidental (yeah sure...) Maybe he can show you his subtle technique.

Who do think taught him that trick?

    Who am I kidding.
You should have seen him put Caveman into the pylons at the first L4 Race this year.
    He's ruthless.

I'm talking smack now but, If you see me on the side of the fire trail gasping for breath... please send help.
