Well - Instead of the trainer, I opted to get out on the sidewalk and go meet Kim at her Monday work spot off of Nolensville rd!!

Got in about 13 miles on the sidewalks!! Take that Glover!!

    Now, stay off that bike!!

Lilly, I did 20 miles around the hood. 1hr 30min. I have mapped out a loop that is 0.98 miles in my subdivision. Did it 20 times nonstop on singlespeed. It has about .5 miles of climbs and about .2 miles per lap of downhill, the rest is basicaly flat. Pretty good training ride. Riding as fast as possible the whole time! Woo Hoo!!

    Man oh Man oh Man...

Now why'd you have to go and do that!? Oh, and it's Lilley, by the way!! HAHA!!

I'm thinking you're gonna be in front with the milage by race day...but I'm still gonna put in some effort!! I'm gonna have to leave from the house again today and get about 12 miles in just to tie!!

Does your wife know she was just a pawn in your whole scheme for that ride!?! LOL

Well, it's final. I'm completely addicted to adding ride milage to mycyclinglog.com!! The group is up to 18 members now - wooOHoOo!!

Come on over and join the group!! It's a blast to see your milage go up after every ride, and it's even more fun to friendly-type compete with others who are close to you in milage!! (Sort of like how I'm whoopin' Glover by a whoppin' 10 miles!!)

We need you!! Whoever "you" are!!

I am just sick and tired of being at the bottom of the list. I guess it is time to start lying or to learn to sell houses while riding a bike. Stupid honesty.

There's always riding round and round in your driveway once you get home at night!! Just figure out how long one trip around is and then just keep a chalk board tally as you go by the mailbox!!

No problem - say hello to 2nd to last place real fast!!

Mycyclinglog.com changed how they display usernames. They used to use your First name and last initial. People complained that it was hard to tell people apart when you had alot of people with the same first name and last initial in your group. Kinda like if Chris Holstein and Chris Holland were both in the group, their names would both be displayed as Chris H. and you wouldn't know which was which without looking at their bikes listed, or their area of town.

They changed it from first name and last initial to your username that you sign into the site with. So if you look now at the list everyone is set as their username now, I'm not Greg L. anymore, I'm Chewieez and you're Reedly and Grant apparently is Rudy31

I just joined the NMB team. Figured since I was stepping up my mileage for Mt Mitchell and now have a computer on my road bike, I might be able to help out. Looks like we are only 10000 miles off the next team...lets get em!!

This is great news!!! Everyone needs to sign up on the mycyclinglog site!! Even if you only ride once a week, or month - it's just fun to add your miles!!

Mike and Jmac - absolutely about adding your past miles!! If you can remember all your rides, or have them logged somewhere - definitely add them to the log!!

The more riders we get - the farther our group moves up in the standings! (Anyone can join! Password is on the first post of this thread.)

i wish I had kept better track of my miles while training for the 12 hour race. My guess would be about 1500 miles, but it would only be a guess. Ill try to get that again in the next few months.

Daniel - I knew it was over when you started commuting to work!!

David, Chris, and Grant - I don't want to hear a thing about how much I ride anymore!!! The proof is in your milage!!

Well, I added my measly mileage.
It is deffinantly on the conservative side, my computer cheats me every time.
Longer the ride, the more I lose.
I know the Cotton Mill Race was 8.3 - 8.5 mi., my computer showed 6.8.
Maybe it was that short cut I took.

That's what I'm saying, Reed. 1,000 miles on the road is nothing like 1,000 MTB. You are rocking!

I'm just letting you guys battle it out and thump your chests while I hang out in the middle of the pack with my measly 447 miles!

I can use all this for ammo when people tell me to race Sport: "Looks how many miles all these guys ride, yea can I compete?!"

WOoHoOOoo! The NMB group at mycyclinglog.com is now over 20,000 miles for 2007!!

If you're wondering what the heck this is - it's just a place online where you can put your miles in, and it keeps a running tally!! It's free, fun, and it's for ANYONE who would like to join up!!!

Password to join the group is nmb2007

Join up! WE NEED YOUR MILES! (Don't have a computer? Just guestimate!!) Some people use this as help for training - but I just like to see if I can catch up to whoever's farther ahead than I am!!

Fun stuff! Congrats Current group users!!!

a side note to those who haven't noticed it yet:

There is a new feature on the mycyclinglog site where you can enter in goals for yourself. It's sweet! I put in my goal for 1000 miles in 2007. It tells you how much farther you have to go to reach your goal in miles and time on the bike and also average miles per day. I know I am about 2 months behind on my goal, but seeing what I have left has already made me really want to step it up and try to achieve my goal!

Finally started riding again this year!! I've got my 4 total rides of 2008 listed, and I put in a hopefully reachable goal of 1,000 miles by June 1st. I truly don't even know if that's a lot, or a little by that time, but just thought I'd see how it pans out!! Last year, I didn't quite make my goal of 2,000 throughout the year, so I'm starting with smaller, more attainable goals!! (Maybe I should have started with 500 by June?)

Whether you're on the nmb race team or not - get signed up on the http://www.mycyclinglog.com website - and use the NMB password, and we'll try to beat other groups in the nation with our miles!! It's good to get your miles logged early so you don't have to go back and try to remember your miles at a later date, and it's a blast to watch your mileage throughout the year!!

I put in a goal of 1000 mi by Dec 31, 2008 just so I didn't piss myself off if I didn't make it for some reason.
I'm at 17% right now, so I'm ahead so far.
I'll readjust it later as I log more miles.
Reed I've never seen anybody log a ride in the future like that, are you going back to Ray's & ride the same exact ride with the same people?

Great guys! It's great to hear your goals. I have yet to decide what mine will be there year. I didn't quite make my 1000 miles goal for 2007 but I was quite close.

With my crosscheck I expect to log a lot more miles this year. I'm thinking about a 2000 mile goal. But at the same time, since I don't have any ideas right now for a goal, I'm not in a hurry to just make one up. I'm still working on getting my crosscheck more comfy to ride, saddle etc. So we'll see what I can post when it gets there.

I see Stanky Creek Cycling has a team on MyCyclinglog this year. Maybe we need some healthy competition!

Yea but it's cool to see where your at with what you thought you could do at an earlier time.
I like that it reminds you that your either ahead or you need to get off your butt & ride if you plan on keeping your goal.
The report section is cool also.
Here's to everybody meeting their goals this year.

Ok, I went and updated my insignificant mileage for this year. The problem is, now that I don't live in TN I think I should pull out of the Nashville group since it's a "group of Nashville riders".

Greg, since you're the Admin for that one, feel free to detach me (You can do that without me losing my overall account, right?). Not that my mileage would be helping you guyses (which is not a word) stats much anyway.

Happy riding and here's to everyone's goals this year!

The squish-o-rama signed on also to track the miles. I have never done so before so it should be interesting. Mine will almost always be mountain miles as I am afraid of cars....
By the way, where do you log the amount of food you eat....the squishster likes his food...I challenge anyone to match me in that category.....except Manwich that is......

Greg, since you're the Admin for that one, feel free to detach me (You can do that without me losing my overall account, right?). Not that my mileage would be helping you guyses (which is not a word) stats much anyway.
I think you should be 'grandfathered' in by now!!

I will reserve judgement at this moment. I'll just let time go and keep you always in fear of being kicked out.

    Problems signing in

Is anyone else having trouble with initial sign-in process. I still haven't received my confirmation email. Just seeing if it was me.

Do mean just registering for mycyclinglog?? I didn't have any trouble but I signed up last year. Maybe they are having server issues or something.

You can try emailing the admin guy. I think one guy runs the whole site.

As a former paper boy Reed, I just put a bag of dog poop on their porch.
    They got the message.

I used an old hotmail account that was in-active and I got right on. I am listed as hatianchefdave. It wouldn't let me reuse the captainchefdave, but since i grew up in Haiti I figured it was fitting. Thanks for the help Chewieez

Hey Reed, did you feel a cool breeze brush past you this morning? That was me, passing you on the cycling log.

    Get on it !!!!

    Daniel,

    Stay away from me

I will have my new bike soon and it's on. I've been without a MTB for almost a week.

Daniel --- Go get him!! I'm taking a month or two or three or four off from anything competitive and relating to bikes!

I did feel the cold air though -- it was nice!! LOL
