    Looking for a DSG partner

My partner moved to California 2 weeks ago - I'm looking for a partner for a 2 man (or coed) team. I want to get in 3 to 4 laps and looking for someone at a similar level. I'm on the edge between Cat 2 and 3 - leaning toward 2 (3=begineer, 2=sport).

Little Caveman - 2010 Voodoo Hoodoo 26'er - Steel is Still Real / custom build

…but on Voyage 34, he finally met himself coming down an up-staircase, and the encounter was crushing (Porcupine Tree).

Steve, I'd be in for this. I was going to try solo, but don't think I have the time to train for it. Let me know if you still need a partner.

I'm available for camp/pits partnering. Still planning a solo race though...the road beckons and I'm out the door now.

I'd like to do this event as well, but don't know if I'm ready for it. Will make a firmer decision closer to the date hopefully.

He Ed - Chef and I are a team

However - this thead can be used more than once - you should be able to find a partner

I'm looking again - due to some changes, Dave can't make it.

    So, anyone want a partner?

You should definitely race! Try to find a team where there are quite a few people, then you can just ride one or two laps! That's what I did last year and it made the whole thing really easy. This is a really relaxed event and anybody can ride.

If you still don't think you're up to it, come on out anyway! We are going to have a brand new pump track designed by Lee McCormack, we're working on the possibility of a skills course, and there, of course, will all kinds of food, drinks and shenanigans to get into all weekend long! It's a ton of fun! If you have any questions about it just let me know.

    OH MY GOSHK.

2 little bitty laps at ACDC kicked on my tail yesterday. Maybe I do need a partner. Or seven.

Lower gear. THAT's what I have to have.

    Tumbler and Wade

    I'm still debating / consulting / wondering / hoping / thinking of panting / and .......

    I'm considering a 2 man vs a 4 man - I wish there was a 3 man cat!

    2 laps isn't enougn - 5 to 6 is to many!

Cold, hard, DSG fact. In order to place, the more folks on the team and the faster each one has to go.

I'd go two and hope my partner doesn't out-train me. Or four and hope nobody cares.

I agree with you Steve, two laps doesn't seem like enough. Last year I did three and thought about four. This year, I am shooting for that fourth one... Maybe five, if I am lucky. Really, all I want to do is ride, hope for good lap times, and have some fun.

Let me know what you decided. I would like to find a partner before too long.

I'm still contemplating doing dsg. Anybody (or group) needs a "relax, in it for the fun" partner?

I really want to do it just for the fun, won't have the time to train for it, and definitely not in it to win anything, just riding for the sake of riding. I'm at the beginner level (If it's any gauge, takes me 1.5~2hours to finish lock4). Please pm/email me.

(sorry to hijack your thread Steve)

edit: p.s. what's "capps" (in the tags)?

Just shot ya a PM, I'm looking to do DSG, I missed it last year due to Illness and really want to do it this year. I've run most of my endurance events solo and I'm not looking to do that any more. I'd be happy with a 4 man or 2 man team so if you got a spot I'm game!

    Talk to ya,

    Jeff

For anyone looking to pair up, I am trying to find one other person to ride DSG. I would like to do 3+ laps. I am just looking to ride for fun but, want to get more riding in than a 4+ person team would permit. If anybody is up for a two man team, please let me know.

To everyone concerned with finding a partner/team, due to number of laps.....just sign up as an Amatuer Solo. It's only $5 more and you can ride when you want to ride, and not have the complaint of your partner affecting your desired number of laps.

This is the perfect solution to getting in "your" laps. If you want to do 4, do 4......if you want more, go for it and have fun w/o the stress of a teammate.

This is such a great race and festival that there will be tons of people to hang out with and share your stories with between/after your laps, whether you are on a team or not!

Just b/c you are registered as a Solo rider, doesn't mean you have to be on course for 12 hours.......Have Fun!!

I thought of that as well and plan on signing up regardless of whether or not I have a partner. However, it is fun doing a relay and knowing that I need to be ready when my partner comes in pushes me a little bit more.
