    2nd Cotton Mill/DSG Workday April 18th

    Okay folks,

The second SORBA Middle Tennessee Cotton Mill/DSG workday is fast approaching......

It will be held from Saturday April 18th to Sunday April 19th.

We will be starting on Saturday morning at Cotton Mill in Fayetteville, TN at 9am.

It will be an overnighter again with trail work, and an opportunity to pre-ride the DSG course.

We are also told that the Pump Track is in place and needs to be ridden in....so if you wanna try something new this should be tons of fun.

For those who missed the last one in February I would tell you that a good time was had by all....just ask Poppy, Officer Mike, and Jeffy!!!

Please post up and let us know how many people are planning to attend, which day your attending, and if you plan on camping that night!

Also, if you need to meet up and follow me down there on Saturday morning let me know and we can arrange a place close to Franklin to set up a caravan early that morning.

These workdays are to support the DSG team and their terrific race they put on for all of us and the support they show SORBA through the generous Moots frame raffle!

Come on and help out......I promise it will be the best work weekend of the year!!!

    Thanks,
    Kelly Benward

Because of the crazy weather we've been having we haven't been able to get the pump track finished, so it isn't ridable at this point. Weather permitting, we'll use this weekend to get things shaped up, and hopefully the skills course started, (although the pump track is the priority at this point). Jim Simms, (aka Pump Track Jim), has been cool enough to offer his expertise and to help me get the track all finished up!

Aaron B, if you're gonna be around, we'd love your insight too!!

I would show up around 9am or so. If we finish it all, you can always ride.

    no work sunday

We will not be working at Cotton Mill/ DSG on Sunday 4/19!!!
We had a great trail work day today and with the storms coming, we will not be staying for the Sunday ride or trail work.
You will love the trail improvements and the PUMP TRACK!!! Thanks to all the volunteers and Clay for the hospitality and food!!

Check out the new pics on Kelly's blog... there's a shot of a dude with a red hat on who's shoulder and arm looks sore. I think I remember him talking about the Scandanavian keel, or the Danish rowboat.

I was fortunate enough Thursday to take a lap around the Cotton Mill. I have to say that the work done there is spectacular. Everyone who had a hand in the clean-up/trail building should be proud.

Thanks for all the hard work

    Cool beans Brian!

I know free time is hard to come by, but if you have some time on your next ride or any ride, slow down for a minute & take a look at the bush or tree that just slapped you in the face or the limbs on the trail ( any trail, not just Cotton Mill) you just had to haul your bike over & give an effort to make the trail a nice run for the next person shooting down it or for your next lap.
For me being a part of trail maintenance is a big part of mountain biking ... you ride the trail ... you take care of the trail!

Thank Roland as well. He took a little dive busting up a small tree that was across the trail. We had a great ride on Thursday.
