    repair stand

I'm looking for a repair stand and am thinking about the Spin Doctor Race Repair stand. It's one that holds the bike by the bottom bracket and the fork dropouts, and is less expensive than the similar Park model.

    link

Anyone know anything about these stands - or the company? I can't even find a website. For that matter, I welcome opinions on this style of stand in general. I'm open to the standard seat-post clamping stand, I just think I like this design better. I am a total noob for any kind of bike repair but have the bug to learn. I do not want one that clamps to the top tube.

If you have a stand to sell, hit me up and tell me about it.

    Thanks!

    Graham,

I have a Park Tool version of the same type of stand that I would be willing to sell. PM me if your interested and I will try to find some info on it for you.

I think this is the one I have: http://www.parktool.com/products/det...&item=PRS%2D20

I have a Spin Doctor stand purchased off Craigslist. It has the traditional style clamp, and is built plenty well enough for the recreational use it will see at my house. HTH.

I found this while surfing over on MTBR. It looks like a good deal.

Glad to see two users work out a deal that is mutually beneficial. That's what makes boards like this great.

Ditto that. Worked out great! Thanks Kelly. BTW - the stand works great clamping into the rear dropouts too. I took the fork off my road bike and repacked the headset last night with it clamped in the back and it worked great. Loving the stand already.

Only problem is that stand should be in my garage. I am coming for it Graham. Better lock it up cause I get dirty. Just playing but all be aware and let me know... I want a good stand a good price. Help a brother out! Congrats on the bomb stand Graham!

    Hi Everyone -

I'm also thinking about buying a stand because the ghetto rigging for cleaning/repairs is getting old. Any thoughts on the Park PCS-9 vs the PCS-10. With the good deal posted above, is the PCS-10 worth the extra 50 bucks?

    Thanks!
