It was way heaved and crunchy at 9, but could see the sun beginning its work on the lakeside. The west side has major water standing from leaching and tire trenching. There has obviously been quite a bit of riding this week.

Got word today that the trail is thawed, mucky, a full parking lot, and trashed. "Come on, man!"

I went out there today because SORBA site said trail was open. After riding about 100 feet I was pissed. I wasnt angry because I drove up from Murfreesboro because of what a website said, but I was angry that it may have lead others to go ahead and ride it. Me and my friend both dismounted 100 ft in and made comments to other passersby to try to convince them not to ride. We went down to the jeep road and did hill repeats for an hour to make our drive worth a workout (BTW the jeep road always dries out before everything else does on that trail). I talked to others in the parking lot who road .02 miles before getting off of the trail who also came out due to what the website reported, and they too were disgruntled that others were riding and that the website said it was okay to ride.

Website is only as accurate as the information provided. We need all the feedback on trails statuses we can get especially when the weather changes as rapidly as it did today. We have to have feedback for it to work. This is a general request: If you are at a trail and you think it is too bad to ride post on the forums, send a Facebook message, call someone and let them know. It is up to us (riders) to keep people informed when trails are turning bad.

For example PW was in primo shape this morning at about 10am. The top was so dry it was dusty. At about lunch time it got warm so quickly that it rapidly melted all the frozen soil beneath the dry upper layer and the water wicked up to the top or came down the sides of hills into the tread. Pretty much every trail experienced the same issue today around about the same time. Even the large pond next to PW was still frozen thats how fast the weather changed today.

East side, minus a few soft mud sections at the beginning of 1, is good to go for now. I'd avoid the west. Conditions may change mid day and I'll try to report back.

No way. It's a deep, soupy, muddy disaster right now. And with tons of rain forecast for tomorrow, it's only gonna get worse. Sucks.

It really needs some time to recover, some sections are muddier and more rutted out than I've seen before. Maybe a little later in the week if the rain manages to miss us, it'll be ready for some action.

Can't say I rode it, although Ryan did before the freeze thaw, but with the rain that we got and the fact that it was so trashed prior to the rain, I'm assuming it's terrible still. Gonna take a while for L4 to be rideable again. Many consecutive days without rain, warmer temps and sun. With the ups and downs as far as temp, ie, freezing and thawing, then fresh rain, it just stays a mess.

I'll post this up ahead of time, maybe very optimistic of me, but ...

I'm going to be in the neighborhood Thursday. If we make it to Thursday without any rain, with temps in the 60's, I'd love to hear (wednesday evening?) what someone thinks of the trails. If it looks good, I may bring the SS with me. If it doesn't, I'll continue to sulk around with everyone who would rather be out riding trails.

Don't bother - I'm sure after what I saw in Clarksville yesterday there's no way in the world anyone should be riding Lock 4 today, plus, it looks like we already have showers moving through the area.

The SORBA site has this trail as CLOSED! They also have every trail that they have listed as closed. I am going over to defeated (not listed on the site) and check it out. I will try to post up on that section of this site later.

East side (trailhead) is ok to ride and in fairly good shape. West is a mess, closed and should avoided. Beautiful day come on out!

Nasty at the entrance, so it will be nasty further in..... let it dry out. Thanks for the signs that someone put up at the trailhead. In the 4 or 5 years I've been going there this is the worst I have seen the trails rutted by folks riding when it it too wet. The spring rains are going to rip it a new one.

Still enough bad areas to stay off. Ryan (who lives next door), Gavin, and I are going to Defeated Creek this morning (9:00).

Got in a few miles on the east side today. Didn't do the black trails. One spot on 1 holding water, little soft at the end of 15, other than that it was in great shape. It needs to be ridden, maybe we can pack it back down and reverse some of the damage from the wet riding.

Oh man. Hope this rain doesn't put too much of a kink in things. I was going to try to ride up here tomorrow, mid morning. If someone local to the trail could post up conditions this evening, I'd appreciate it.

East side was like, 98% this morning around 11. Just a few slick turns here and there. This afternoon and tomorrow should be excellent. Get some! This weekend is going to suck.

I just got back and it's drying out nicely. No slickness, so hammer down! Didn't get on the west, assuming it's still is oozing.

Checked the trail last night. Too wet. It might be O.K. this evening after the warmer air and wind do their work today.

Rode a lap last night minus 2,3 &4. Wet in some of the usual low spots, otherwise good to go.

The East side is really good. West side CLOSED. I got no mud on the bike. you will splash crossing the 3 ditches on BLT 13 (before the last lake side trail) but that is it. Get it today before the rain tomorrow.

Met Ryan for the Giant demo and found the east side was drying nicely at noon today. Still some really slick corners and trenching holding water, but improving. Should be "decent" by this afternoon.

Great shape this afternoon. Corners still a little damp, should be perfect tomorrow. Bridge at the spring on 13 is broken on one side.

East side open, just updated the status page. It still has some slick corners and a few bad spots, but overall ok to ride if you don't mind a little slickness. West side still closed.
