Rode two loops this afternoon. The sections that were not involved with the race are perfect. There are pieces of the race course that are trashed and some sections that are good. Needs to be ridden to compact the ruts before they dry.

Is the trail ok to ride?

Tried to ride late yesterdaybut bailed after 100 yards as it seemed to be in horrible shape. Still very muddy.

As Toto2 said, trails not involved in the race are fine. I rode yesterday afternoon. I took trail 1 (tore up) to trail 5 and rode through trail 12 back to the parking. 5-12 is OK. Enjoy

Rode yesterday, go get some. it is really good right now. there are a couple of spots in belt 16 that are still sloppy but the rest of the trail is worth the ride...

Trail was good this morning. Watch out for down tree at the start of Sink Hole Trail.

Is the dead fall still in the trail on 16? I cut most of it out but ran out of daylight so I had to leave some...

Trail is great today but I was too lazy (and no saw) to stop and cut out the tree at the beginning of sink hole. You can ride over it but it needs to go for sure.

Good conditions this morning. Tree on Sink Hole and third lakeside, just before the scary slanted rock, need to go. Last minute decision to come out and didn't think about bringing a saw.

Small stuff is now removed and it is rideable
Could still use a little chain saw work though
All I had was a hand saw

Thanks to whomever cleared the trees! There is one after Rabbit Run at the lakeside, just after coming out of the woods. It can be ridden over or hopped.

Trail was great! Watch for loose leaves.

Thanks again to those working on the trail. I noticed several places where drain cuts have been made. Gracias!

Trail, this afternoon, was all good. Heavy leaf cover in most areas, so I wasn't real confident in the corners, but wound up with no mud on the tires. Getcha some before the rain tomorrow after noon.

Got some crunchy this morning. Sun is out and temps are rising. Probably going to be too mushy to ride for most of the rest of the week. Not supposed to get to freezing tonight.

Got to check out the improvements today. All good!

On BLT8, after the rocky S run down, a berm was built at the entrance into the new section (with the wood tabletop). It allows more speed when entering.

On the new section of BLT9, the ramp was moved to following the dirt drop. A berm was built into the left-hand corner immediately after which allows more speed entering it.

At "Smack Down" (BLT10), just before the climb out, the trail at the water's edge had eroded down to about 8" of track. The trail was moved up-slope for sustainability.

The climb out of Chlorine Hollow (BLT14) has new water bars and fill at the narrow by the tree at the top.

All good stuff! Thanks to all that pitched in!

You will love the trails there. I worked in the Powell area 3 years ago during the winter. The nearest trail system (and turns out to be the only one rideable during the wet) was Norris Dam. Love it. I figured out a fun loop. Hollar and I can talk you through it.

There are many others. Here's the mt. bike page up there.

Rode this morning. It appears that several rode Sunday following the rain... Trail was slippery in corners, but mostly firm. Standing water at the drain crossings on 13 before climb to lakeside bench. Considering that the west side was a mess on Saturday, I'd say it'd be worse now.

Looks like its time to start raking and blowing organics out of lows and drains. They're holding water and making mush.

There is a big tree down just after the flow trail table top jump and right at Mexico rock. Please do not cut this tree out at this time. There are discussions going on as to how we can take advantage of this tree and make a really cool feature. As it is now, there is no way to go around this tree without getting off your bike. That's okay because this could be a really cool new spot on the trail

Sounds like that because of the angle of the tree in comparison to the trail, it may need to be cut out.

Cotharyus is on the filling of the erosion at the start of Trail 1. It rained pretty hard yesterday. I'd say riding will be out, today. Since it's supposed to get into the 90s this afternoon, tomorrow may be OK for the east side. The west, surprisingly, still had some mud yesterday, before the rain, so I'd say stay off this weekend.

The new fill at 1 will be sticky until ridden in. I'd recommend entering trail 1 at the race entry, from the field on the left just beyond the ramp.

A couple of folks rode through it anyhow, looked like they picked up enough clay to jam up their tires against the frame. Surprisingly, what I put in Tuesday morning was fine, already ridden in. There were tread patterns in that, but no ruts or pealed up sections. By yesterday afternoon, the new section was pretty good in terms of dryness. It wasn't sticking to my feet anymore. Should be fine today. Thanks again for your help Gary.
