Ha! Funny guy! I'll do a rock count this evening and report back.

On a more serious note, I would like to apologize to anyone I offended for using the "a$$ beating" phrase in my initial response. I use that term in a more loose/joking way than most, mainly in response to the actions of others that don't quiet make sense to me. However, I can see how that can be easily misinterpreted. I would never in any way promote a physical altercation for any reason that is not life threatening. So, with that said, what's done is done, hopefully we all learned something. I'm going ridin'

Not to change the subject but does anyone know how much rain Gallatin got? We got a good soaker in H'ville late today. Brother in law is in town from VT and want to show him middle TN trail.

Interesting read. I removed two rocks at Shutes a while back and you would think that we paved the place.

Heading to Lock 4 for a nice greenway ride.

Trail is in great shape. I got a chance to check out the new "feature." As I crested over the smooth new nearly edgeless rock something didn't feel right. I kept thinking about going shopping for clothes, watching the TV show Nashville and gossiping with my friends . I kept riding along and noticed my man parts didn't feel right, they were starting to shrink. By the time I got home, my man parts had turned into lady parts. What was I to do? I jumped into my truck and proceeded to go 4 wheeling, on the way back home I picked up couple of fresh cut ribeyes and some Red Man chewing tobacco, while enjoying my raw ribeyes and smokeless tobacco, I watched the Rocky series, I-IV, because lets face it V is horrible. After all this, my man parts came back. All of this could have been avoided if that rock was just left alone!!!

Should be outstanding, according to those out there yesterday.

Bikers Choice- We have a fantastic event planned for this upcoming Sunday for our friends at the Lock 4 Park in Gallatin. From 10-2, Trek Bikes will have a fleet of bikes available for our riding friends to test ride. Trek will be bringing smooth and fast road bikes like the race inspired Madone and the super comfortable endurance designed Domane as well as their super fast, nimble Superfly hardtail and full suspension race bike and the brand new Fuel EX 650B trail bike with automotive race giant Penske designed RE:ACTIV suspension. Other great Trek bikes that will be available for riding are the Fuel EX 29, Remedy 29, Remedy 650, Stache, Lush 29, and the Carbon Cali. Remember to bring your credit card and your state issued ID to ride these bikes and see what makes Trek stand out from the crowd with their award winning road and mountain bikes!

With all the heat and traffic, some of the corners were getting dusty slick. Be careful.

I got in one lap..then my brakes broke. What are the chances of a local shop having a pin kit for a set of hayes stroker ryde brakes?

I'm sure MOAB will help you if they can. A temp fix might be a metric socket-head bolt and acorn nut. I'd think that you wouldn't want thread at the hingeing contact areas.

    As proof that:
    A) I can time my rides carefully to avoid rain
    B) I can take a day off from trail building
    C) no matter what I do, I can't get out of clearing spider webs from trails

I hit Lock 4 around 9:30. The trail was in great shape, minus some rock deterioration, got around on the single speed on flats (fun times on the little jumps and drops with those) and got back home before the rain set in. Looks like we're in for about three days of storms, but the trimming on the trails up there was great, and it looks like things are going to dry out pretty quick once all this passes. Thanks to those who maintain things there.

Got about 1/2" of rain last night, but trail wound up being in good shape. A handful of puddles, all but one avoidable. Get it.

Thanks to whomever did the trimming on the lakesides! Very nice!

I knocked out BLT 7 (shoreline 1) on Tuesday evening. Love that section. I did notice on a couple of short downhills that the drainage could use a little work just by edging down the shoreside edge, to allow for proper water shedding. We try to get the water to shed across the trail, not jump on it and run like a flume. I cut into the best I could with weed eater string. but this is the tool of choice if you have one http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...601431.1305554

Trail is fast and tacky. A few puddles on #3 but otherwise great grip in the corners. Thanks for the clearing on #7.

We should care about your ROAD bike performance at lock 4? Is this guy serious? Is that the type guy maintaining the trails at lock 4? I was about to make my first trip to lock 4, and came to check trail conditions, and was blown away by someone filling in obstacles so he can ride with his road tires?!?!??

No, didn't expect a sticky thread on trail conditions to be hijacked and bloated with unfunny, childish sarcasm. Sarcasm, when being used by a regular in an online community, is often kept to a proper and expected thread or even tagged with a /s. 2 posts or not, this is not my first time online, but hey, blame the new guy.

Lock 4 Trail Conditions Here - everyone post!

Trail was great today rode the east side and ran the west side and got a dip in the lake even. Most of the rain missed the trail it sprinkled during our run for about 5 min not enough to even reach the trail. I hope we don't get a lot of rain tomorrow either because right now it is great for Sunday's race.

This is, by far, the most interesting trail conditions thread on the internet. It doesn't always stray off topic, but when it does it always entertains.

The Hamilton creek one used to get pretty crazy too, until pwp opened and people stopped riding at hammy.

Rode the entire trail this morning before the rain hit. Roots, rocks and bridges were extremely slick. Normal soft spots with a couple of small places of standing water.

Raining hard now. At least second of the day. Reckon the XTerra will butcher it tomorrow… Ugh...

Fortunately, just learned from Ryan that it hasn't rained up there. Muy bien.

Poured here. Texted Ryan to see if it had rained at the trail. He called to say that as soon as the participants got out of the swim and onto the bikes, the bottom fell out. We'll see how it holds up. Fortunately the riding is only on the east.

Lock 4 Trail Conditions Here - everyone post!

The only good think is it poured from start to finish on the bike and it was like riding in a creek . There wasn't mud to speak of more just spray in your face. It would be worse if it rained that morning and then stopped making it peanut butter and rutting up. There was never any mud on my tires it was to wet. I don't think the trail was messed up just soaked. Once it dies it should be back to normal.
