Chickasaw is perfect right now! I was there yesterday, 3.17, and there is major hero dirt happening. Get out there before the rain hits tomorrow!

I just came from there. I didn't ride, but saw several people riding. Tires looked wet, but not muddy. The trail I could see from the road looked tacky, but that's not much of the trail.

No RC car. I signed up to race tomorrow and went down there to check in, so I don't have to do it before the race. I had to work this morning and this evening so I wasn't going to have time to ride anyways.

Will Chickasaw be rideable today? I have never been and in the area not sure how it dries out.

Trail itself is in perfect shape....but man it could use a good trimming. I suggest wearing glasses

Dirt was tacky good at Chickasaw yesterday. Found a Casio solar powered quartz watch at the trail head. Call six1five5four5eight6zero2 and describe to claim.

Rode Chickasaw today. Mostly very good. Some wet spots, but not a lot of them and they weren't huge. Some uphill roots & rocks just moist enough to be slick. I imagine the rain coming in will make it much worse if Chick gets a lot of it. Definitely some plant encroachment on the trails making for dodging slappers and such.

There's a 3 ft tree down on the Dump Climb. Also there's a large portion of a tree that is on the bridge around mile 1.6, just after you cross over the road passing the creek put-in.

Three trees down that need a chainsaw and a few leaners that need to go too. First tree is at the first bridge past the boat ramp. The tree took out the rails on the left side of the bridge. You can get through with a dismount but that's no good. The second tree is down 3/4 of the way up the dump climb. It's gonna need a BIG saw. The tree is about headtube height. The last tree is down between mile 7 & 8. Not too big and we were able to move it enough that you can ride slightly off the trail and get by without a dismount.

Other than that, the trail is in pretty good shape.

Rode Chickasaw Sat 7/18. All trees clear. Only a few soft spots.

Any heavy rain at Chickasaw yesterday, 9/5? Haven't been down in a while but hate to make the 40 mile drive to find a big mudhole...

Did Columbia get much rain last night? Hoping conditions might be ok for a ride tonight.

Rode a lap this morning for the first time, really enjoyed the way the trail flows and how clean it was. I assume it is due to next weeks race but still, very nice ride. I'll be back.

It's always really clean out there.

Not too many Chikasaw riders on here. Was there a chickasaw boycott I missed? :-) Anyway rode chickasaw yesterday and conditions were basically perfect. Rode first 5.5 miles minus rocky technical section near very beginning of trail.

Rode Chickasaw Friday 5/6. Excellent condition, no mud, very fast. Only downside was it was very overgrown on the newer 'dump' area after the black hills. Almost couldn't find the trail. Time for the bug spray!

Looks like trail conditions are reported on Sorba now, http://www.sorbamidtn.org/current-conditions/.

However, it lacks forum capabilities. I would like to volunteer some grunt work to help clean up the mess, and I have a couple of other guys that want to help as well. Do we know if the trail bosses are planning a group effort?

    Thanks,
    Ben

Tree down near the end of Black Hills... before the cut in the rocks. Tree would probably be ride able if it was on the ground but it's about a foot up held by vines and such.

Otherwise the trail was in great shape.

Rode at 4 pm today. Trail was slick in numerous places. If rain holds off should be great in a day or two.

Was at Chickasaw Saturday. This isn't a current statement of trail conditions with the rain we've had since.
But the trail has been well-maintained over the winter and is in great riding shape right now in general terms. It appears to be draining and drying out pretty well.

Portions of the Trail of Tears and Black Hills trails at Chickasaw Trace in Columbia are being threatened by the potential expansion of the landfill that is at the park. There is a meeting of the Health and Environment committee May 1 at 4:30 at the Commission Meeting Room located at 6 Courthouse Square in Columbia. If you are available please come show your support for these trails. If you can’t come to the meeting please consider contacting the Maury County commissioners. Their contact information can be found here http://www.maurycounty-tn.gov/index.aspx?page=334
