    Best trail to ride tomorrow?

Looking to ride Lock 4, Chickasaw, or Montgomery Bell tomorrow afternoon. Which one do you guys think would be in the best condition?

    Thanks

I'm in the same boat - looks like rain may hold off until Sunday, so I'm hoping Monty Bell is good, but haven't been out there to see how it looks. If it stays sunny today, that should help...

I heard MB is closed for freeze/thaw conditions. Better check before heading out. I recommend going to the cyclocross races at Chickasaw this weekend if you want to ride off road. Or, head up to Cheatham Wildlife Management Area and ride the gravel up there.

I called MB & as of right now the trail is open, but I'd call before you go, that could change.(797-9051 ext 18 afterhours)
    Or try AEDC.
Bud says it's good to go.

    I plan to ride MB.

Of course will check the recording tomorrow first. But open as of 10pm Friday. I plan to ride mostly green and yellow. They will be fine, I would guess.

I've heard about Cheatham before and am interested - where's the best place to go and where do you park? Thanks for any info...

I rode there years ago and then rode last year once with Jeffy (Bikeme). We parked at his house and rode a couple miles up the road to on of the entrances. There was a gravel road there that you could probably park at. Maybe he or Pump Track Jim can add some input on this as they live near there and ride it some.

I also took a road trip to the ranger station once in the center of the area and was told we were free to ride it as long as hunting wasn't going on. There is a ranger checking station in the center of the area that would also provide a good place to park.

I think if you google search Cheatham Wildlife Management Area you can find a map online. I would just follow it to the center of the park as stated above and park at the big game check in station and ride from there. It is a large area and you will need a map. Sorry I couldn't help more but please post up yourself if you find any more information or get a ride in out there.

Thanks for the info - I'm heading to MB today with a few people and may just go through on the way back. I'm in Sylvan Park, so not too far away. I'm interested in both the MTB opportunities and the rumored dirt roads for mild 4x4 use...

If I get up there and get a map, I'll scan and post. I didn't find the map online when searching before, but haven't spent all that much time looking.
